TEAM BUILDING

Team, The Central Operating Unit

Teams are essential to the effectiveness of any organization.  Achieving the "right" team dynamic is an ever present challenge.  The introduction or departure of a single team member can change the dynamic of any team.  Too many organizations spend little time focused on team effectiveness.  Groove Management, has helped numerous organizations to enhance their team effectiveness.

â€śBrian is an exceptional leader. He is a natural innovator who gets people excited to accomplish great things. His entrepreneurial spirit and working style with team members has led to many successful executed projects which delivered real results to the business.”

Groove Management's Build a bike team building workshop

Start, Stop and Continue

Helping teams to reflect on past performance is one approach that can yield new insights.  As part of our work we get teams to review behaviors to start, stop and continue.  By applying this approach teams develop greater self awareness and can map out a course to enhanced performance.

One of our most popular offerings is a collaboration with Natalia Cohen, one of four women who rowed a 29 foot boat across the Pacific ocean setting two world records. We use her story as the premise for an inspiring workshop to align teams around a common goal, set milestones and determine how to work as a team to achieve extraordinary results.

Team Timeout in-person and online team building workshop

The Team Timeout

At Groove Management, we recognize the power of in person personal connection. The best teams have a bond that can only be realized through face to face interaction. Zoom fatigue and working from home has started to erode employee engagement and effectiveness. We have a viable solution. We have been hosting outdoor facilitated team meetings for several Charlotte clients.

The Virtual Team Timeout

We also have several fun and interactive team building activities that drive engagement and help teams model a winning approach to collaborating in a virtual world. Let us plan a 1-3 hour virtual team timeout for your team.

â€śI first worked with Brian at the Motley Fool, where I was impressed by his organizational development work. We've kept in touch over the years and when I landed with MetLife in Charlotte, we had the opportunity to reconnect. Brian conducted a half-day team building exercise for 130+ marketers who work in multiple locations, often remotely. Following a short presentation, Brian introduced the Bike Build Team Exercise. The group broke into teams of 5 or 6 and without giving too much away, needed to work within their team and across teams in order to successfully build a child’s bicycle. These bicycles were then presented to underprivileged children from the community (don't worry, an actual mechanic made sure they were safe!). The feedback from the team was universally positive and created quite a buzz. I would highly recommend Brian and his bike build program for any team event.”
